CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A second tragedy in just as many weeks has those within the Beeville Independent School District mourning the loss of yet another student.

17-year-old Justin Salcido was killed over the weekend when he was struck by a passing car along the SPID access road near Everhart in Corpus Christi. The A.C. Jones High School student was helping push a stalled car with two others at the time of the crash.

The incident follows the heartbreaking deaths of three children from Beeville after the car they were in collided with a train just outside Mathis on Jan. 28.

The district said campus crisis team and counselors were on hand Monday to assist students and staff.
