Two people have died following a horrific head-on collision just south of Bayside in Refugio County. The accident happened around 2:30pm on Farm Road 136, just north of the Copano Bay Bridge.

Witnesses tell DPS troopers a Nissian Pathfinder was going north when, for some reason, it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram Pickup. The driver of the pickup truck was able to get out of the vehicle before it burst into flames.

There were three people in the Pathfinder. The driver and a woman in the passenger seat were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey Waller and 77-year-old Rosa Harris. Both were from Bayside.

A female passenger in the backseat of the Pathfinder and the driver of the pickup were both Halo flighted to CHRISTUS Spohn Memorial.
