Aransas Pass, Ingleside high schools competing for food donations

The two schools are joining forces in a special competition, with the winner getting to take over their rival school's turf.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — Aransas Pass and Ingleside high schools are battling it out to see who can bring in the most canned goods for their annual canned food drives.

The two schools are joining forces in a special competition, with the winner getting to take over their rival school's turf.

If Aransas Pass wins the food drive, they can decorate one wall of Ingleside High School in all things Panthers, including the district's purple and yellow colors. If Ingleside brings in the most food, they get to take over a wall in Aransas Pass High School, decked out in honor of the Ingleside Mustangs.

"We have no idea what the outcome will be, but we're hoping," said seniors Farrah Gauthreaux and Rober Eppard.

"We're just trying to give back," senior Thomas Ledesma said. "Anything that helps is honestly great."

Students in charge said Ingleside Methodist Church and the Coastal Bend Food Bank would benefit from this year's drive.
