CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Port Commission is back to full strength again after local attorney Catherine Hilliard was formally sworn in Tuesday to fill the seat left vacant when Barbara Canales ran for and won the Nueces County judge's seat.
Canales administered the oath of office to Hillard during a ceremony Tuesday.
Hilliard is married to prominent personal injury attorney Bob Hilliard. She admitted that she has no experience with Port-related issues, but she has been serving the community in other ways and is prepared to learn on the job.
Hilliard was one of 11 candidates vying for that appointment.
