Blue Angels visit NAS-CC ahead of Wings Over South Texas

Once again, the famous jets will be part of the annual Wings Over South Texas Air Show.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels will be making their return visit to the Coastal Bend on April 13-14 of next year.

Once again, the famous jets will be part of the annual Wings Over South Texas Air Show.

The upcoming air show will be held at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi, and on Monday one of the Blue Angels flew to the base as a special pre-season winter site preview. The idea was to give directors of the show a chance to scope out the terrain well ahead of time.

"It's huge. We open up the gates to the public and it allows the community to come see what we do in the military," said Lt. Richard Hecke, air show director. "We show off more than just the Blue Angels, but as long as the weather holds you'll be able to see all sorts of performers."

Two new pilots will be part of the Blue Angels' demonstration this year.
