Corpus Christi (KIII News) — People lined up outside the Catholic Charities headquarters Monday morning waiting to receive a care package filled with goodies to brighten their holidays.

For 52 years, Catholic Charities Inc. has been gifting families with countless turkeys and all the delicious trimmings.

"I've been just in awe of the community coming together with our staff and volunteers," said Kevin Branson, executive director of Catholic Charities Inc.

Organizations and community leaders gather together, bringing in donations and dedicating their time to carrying out the holiday mission.

"We're just one piece of it. There are so many people and organizations that play a role," Branson said.

With countless families lined up, the need to serve is growing.

"We have a great foundation," Branson said. "Let's just keep helping as many people as we can and try and meet as many needs as we can."

For Claudia Warren, it's not about how little or how much you have.

"You know, a lot of people may have everything and they're still here," Warren said.

It's about hope and knowing you're not alone.
