Corpus Christi (KIII news — The 34th annual South Texas Spring Games for Special Olympics Texas are coming up, and on Tuesday CITGO announced its 25th year of sponsorship for the Games at their main building.
This spring more than 550 athletes between the ages of eight and 73 will be competing, and the events range from relays to shot put.
Art Klein with CITGO has volunteered for the past seven years.
"My favorite part is just seeing the athletes. They just seem to love the games, and they have fun. They just love finishing their race, and at the end, they get a hug," Klein said.
The Spring Games will be held at the Flour Bluff High School athletic field Saturday, April 7.
