City extends deadline to take ownership of La Nina replica

Those interested now have until Feb. 22 to file the necessary paperwork with the City.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — An extension to help restore one of the Christopher Columbus ship replicas, the La Nina, was filed by the City of Corpus Christi and the Columbus Sailing Association Tuesday.

The decision to extend the deadline for organizations to apply for rights of ownership of the wooden ship are an effort to help preserve it. There have been some organizations showing interest in taking over ownership, but so far no one has made a purchase.

Those interested now have until Feb. 22 to file the necessary paperwork with the City.
