Corpus Christi (KIII News) — The Corpus Christi IceRays took their practice to the flight deck of the U.S.S. Lexington Thursday to benefit the museum and local U.S.O. of South Texas.

The team presented checks to the Lexington Museum and the U.S.O. of South Texas consisting of money they raised during recent games. The team spent lunchtime passing pucks into hockey nets against the backdrop of fighter jets and the Corpus Christi Bay.

"The IceRays held a NAVY day, and the money that they raised auctioning off the special jerseys, they split the money between the Lexington and USO South Texas, and they're here today to present a check," Executive Director Steve Banta said.

After lunch, the team was given a tour for the first time as a team of the U.S.S. Lexington.
