It's an emotional time when an adoption finally goes through and the judge has signed off on it.
This year across Texas, there have already been over 5,300 adoptions, and over 6,600 children are still waiting to be adopted.
Nancy Torres with Arms Wide Adoption Services has helped find over 2,000 children their new homes.
"In the Corpus Christi area from Corpus to Laredo and down to the Rio Grande Valley, we only do adoption services, straight adoptions, so we match children to families that we recruit to find them loving homes," Nancy Torres said
The non-profit said the process to match children with parents is tough and expensive.
"Coastal Bend Day of Giving is really important to us it helps us find homes for our children," Nancy Torres said.
