CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Graduates of Del Mar College found out during their commencement ceremony Friday night that they were all getting scholarships to attend Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

More than 700 Del Mar College students walked across the stage at the American Bank Center for their two -year diplomas.

TAMUCC President Dr. Kelly Quintanilla was the keynote speaker and made the big announcement.

"So all full-time students, we are giving you a minimum scholarship of $500, and I say minimum because if you had a GPA of 3.0 you get $2,000  and those of you with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will get $4,000," Quintanilla said. 

Students who graduated from Del Mar College Friday night will receive scholarships up to $4,000 depending on their grade point average to continue their education.
