Del Mar College students show off special effect makeup for final project

For students, the best part for the final project was the chance to be creative.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — Students at Del Mar College showed off that make-up can be really out of this world.

Thursday was the final project for students in the college's drama program for students specializing in special effect makeup.

2018's theme involved the creatures of Paradise Lost with students taking their inspiration from alien and sci-fi worlds to show off what life might look like on other planets.

Each student used different makeup and prosthetic technique like the professional makeup artists in Hollywood.

For students, the best part for the final project was the chance to be creative.

"What I enjoyed the most was like making the headpiece. Because I got to get creative and get my ideas out," Vaness Rosales Neptune said. "I hope they take away not to become makeup artist necessarily but to become creative problem solvers in their personal lives."

According to professors, Thursday's showcase was specifically dedicated to the survivors and lost victims of the California Wildfires.
