Corpus Christi (KIII News) — High schoolers in Robstown had an opportunity Thursday to get a head start on their careers.

Robstown Early College High School and Del Mar College teamed up to give students a day dedicated to college and career planning. Del Mar Showcase Day gave students from Seale Junior High and Early College the chance to attend different sessions of their choice on potential career paths.

According to Dean of Student Outreach and Enrollment Patricia Dominguez, they want to give high school students the best chance they can for a good career.

"We want to be responsive to the needs of the high school and the industry that's asking for prepared students, that once they exit high school that they're ready to go out into the world of work and earn a very good living and have a fulfilling career," Dominguez said.

12 different sessions were provided to the students ranging from technology and health science programs.
