Donation to Peewee's Pet Adoption helps with new animal hospital

Peewee also plans on opening an animal wellness clinic for the public to help with things such as heartworm detection and vaccinations.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — A Corpus Christi animal rescue shelter received a generous donation to help cover the cost of a new animal hospital.

On Thursday the Estate of Prominent Coastal Bend Lawyer Harvey Gene Grossman donated a $100,000 donation to Peewee's Pet Adoption.

According to officials with Peewee's Pet Adoption, the animal hospital will be an expansion of their current building and will help any animal they find in need of emergency care.

"I had tears in my eyes; it's a dream come true. We'll be able to make the dogs better fast in a clean environment," director Ernie Cochran said.

Peewee also plans on opening an animal wellness clinic for the public to help with things such as heartworm detection and vaccinations.
