CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) — On this week's Dr. Is In, Dr. Gregg Silverman joined First Edition to discuss what Macular Degeneration is and how it affects your vision.

Macular Degeneration is the deterioration of the center part of the retina.

This disease can cause vision loss and usually begins to happen when a person reaches 50 years old.

This condition can be detected by a simple exam conducted by a Ophthalmologist or Retinol Specialist.

There is therapy to treat this condition but it is currently incurable.

If you have more questions, ask your physician.
