Thursday was World Kidney Day, and Driscoll Children's Hospital was helping raise awareness about kids who are dealing with different kinds of kidney ailments.

The hospital held an event at Bowlero on Ayers. It was called “Help Us Strike Out Kidney Disease." The event focused on those patients with pediatric kidney disease or those who are going through dialysis or who have just gone through transplantation.

Since the event was at a bowling alley, those patients and the staff members who have helped them through their ordeal got to hit the bowling lanes together.

About 200 kidney patients showed up for the event.
