CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — First responders were called to an accident involving a pedestrian just after 7:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Staples Street and Saratoga Boulevard.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, 23-year-old Caleb Fuentes was struck by a pickup at the intersection and was rushed to Bay Area Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he crossed the street. The driver that struck him stopped and remained at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation, but at this time the driver involved in the crash is not facing any charges, according to police.
