ALICE, Texas — Firefighters in Alice, Texas, are still reviewing surveillance footage to find out how a late night fire that destroyed two businesses Monday got started.
The fire broke out just after 8:30 p.m. Monday and ended up destroying the Happy Daze hookah lounge and Fashions Hair Design, which are housed under the same roof.
Authorities said high winds caused the fire to spread quickly, burning through both businesses.
One firefighter suffered minor burns but is expected to be okay.
"I've lost everything," hair stylist Alma Medrano said. "Scissors, clippers, curling irons."
Authorities have still not determined what sparked the fire.
