Flour Bluff students start food pantry at high school

Organizers encourage the community to help by dropping off non-perishables to the front office of Flour Bluff High School.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Key club of Flour Bluff High School has been hosting a food pantry for those affected from the government shutdown and since it officially ended they have continued doing it.

All students are allowed to take the food, whether they forget lunch or family members that can't afford a meal at home.

"We realized there were some kids that were going home and they didn't have hot food, so you know me, Chance and our sponsor Ms. Dewolf just thought about it, and it sounded like a good idea. That's why we're here; we wanna be able to give back to our community," seniors Chance Pittman and Thomas Nelson said.
