The Gregory Police Department has finally selected a new police chief.
Retired Portland Police Officer, Juan "Tony" Cano was sworn into office early last week during a city council meeting. According to the Caller Times, Cano was selected from a group of 19 candidates after a lengthy selection process.
Back in October of last year, city officials placed former police chief Robert Meager on administrative leave after accusations of sexual harassment surfaced.
Cano retired from the Portland Police Department back in June of last year after working for the department since for more than 20 years.
