CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Monday marked the seven-year anniversary of the day 24-year-old Kimberly Encinia was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.

It happened in 2012 and the case remains unsolved.

Encinia was walking along the side of McArdle Road near Nile, on her way to a girls sleepover at a nearby church. She was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver just yards from her destination.

For the last seven years, there have been no new leads in the case. All police have to go on is that the vehicle was possibly a white or grey Nissan Xterra.

At the time, there were no sidewalks along the stretch of McArdle where the hit-and-run took place. Encinia's death sparked change within the City and sidewalks were added.

In the meantime, Encinia's mother continues to plea to the public to help find the person who killed her daughter. If you have any information about the case, call police at 361-886-2600.
