Incarnate Word Academy student gets $10,000 scholarship from CITGO

The scholarship will be used to cover tuition, fees, and books for both the fall and spring semesters.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi high school student received a scholarship Friday from CITGO Refineries to follow his dreams of going to college.

Incarnate Word Academy Senior Joseph Nicholson was given a $10,000 scholarship. He plans to use the money to go to college at Texas A&M University-Kingsville to become a civil engineer.

Nicholson hopes his degree can be put to use to help the City with their street projects.

"I enjoy the construction, and I am just getting things done on time because I think everyone can agree that it takes much time just for the roads of Corpus to get fixed," Nicholson said.

The scholarship will be used to cover tuition, fees, and books for both the fall and spring semesters.
