CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — Patients at Driscoll Children's Hospital got into the spirit of the holidays.

Friday was the 15th Annual Holiday Spectacular where kids got a chance to perform on stage and show their creativity.

Members of the hospital said they put on this pageant so patients can forget about being sick or having struggles and just enjoy being a kid.

"It's really fun to see a child who maybe struggles in some areas of life they can be on stage, they can be just a kid, and they can show their family what they can do so it's a gift to us to be able to participate in it," director of rehabilitation Susan Fields said.

Kids of all ages and disabilities were able to take part in the pageant, where therapists were behind the scenes to help guide them.

Casting begins every year in September and members of the hospital said they're always happy to hold the event.
