Corpus Christi (KIII News) — More than 200 students at the Promesa College Prep campus in Corpus Christi now have a new pair of shoes thanks to an international organization.

It's called Samaritan's Feet. Volunteers handed out the shoes and socks as part of a program they call "Shoes of Hope."

That's not all. Volunteers helped the children wash their feet before putting on their new socks and shoes.

"Any little thing they are very much appreciative," Principal, Lucy Munuz, said.

"Many of our children, especially at this campus, we have seen that anything little thing that they are given they are elated and that is what we are all about."

This was just one of the organization's stops in Corpus Christi. They also donated shoes to kids at Westside Helping Hands after-school program.

In all, the organization gave out more than 360 pairs of shoes were given out Thursday.
