A Corpus Christi man accused of intoxication manslaughter has entered a plea of guilty in exchange for 7 years in prison.
Jesus Rivera, 23, took the plea agreement Friday morning in the 347th District Court. Following the plea, Judge Missy Medeary issued a seven year prison sentence.
It was back in April 2016 when Rivera was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and for leaving the scene of an accident. Police say he was driving a truck and hit a motorcyclist later identified as Moody High School graduate David Gaona, 37.
There is no word if Rivera will be eligible for parole at some point during his sentence.
