Man on Flour Bluff crosswalk hit by driver who had a green light

Currently, the accident is under investigation, and the drive has not been cited.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — A man is fighting for his life Monday night after he was hit by a car in Flour Bluff near Waldron Road and Compton.

According to police, the accident happened around 7 p.m. when a driver had a green light when she hit a man. Witnesses at the scene said the victim had the right of way because he was on the crosswalk.

When officers arrived, they didn't see the driver right away but were then told that she did stop on the scene and pulled into a Jack and the Box parking lot.

"We are still investigating we are still trying to gather all of the facts CCFD came out here and went ahead and transported the subject to the hospital in order to get further treatment for his injuries," officer Frank Perez said.

Officers said the man's condition is life-threatening and the driver was not at fault.

Currently, the accident is under investigation, and the drive may not be cited.
