Corpus Christi (KIII News) — A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital Sunday night in critical condition after crashing his bike while exiting the Crosstown Expressway near Gollihar.

Police say the 64-year old man lost control of the bike and slid a pretty good distance before crashing into a fence. He was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital. Police say that although the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, he did suffer serious head injuries.

Police are investigating what caused the man to lose control.
