After 20 years of hard work, the Corpus Christi Marine Superintendent Peter Davidson will be retiring on Wednesday.
At Tuesday's City Council meeting, Davidson was recognized for his accomplishments since taking over Marina operations.
"Rebuilding the Marina when I took it over 20 years ago. We had ducts falling down, and I figured out how to get grant funding for marinas in enterprise form, so we don't use ad Valorem taxes," Davidson said.
Davidson is proud of the more than $11 million in grants his office has been able to obtain. Davidson said he is most pleased with doubling the size of the Marina from 350 boat slips to 650 slips, making it one of the nicest city-side marinas on the U.S. coastline.
