The goal of the Citadel Shield and Solid Curtains exercises is to insure peak readiness of U.S. Navy personnel and security forces.
From Monday through Feb. 9, personnel at Naval Air Station-Kingsville and Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi will conduct a series of security exercises to practice their response to potential security threats.
They will not be training to respond to any specific threat, and officials said the exercises will have little impact outside of the station.
However, as part of the exercise, enhanced security procedures will be implemented at times exactly as they would be in a real situation, so there may be a 100-percent identification check of everyone entering the gate. Expect delays.
