CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The search for a group of police impersonators continues after a Robstown family's security camera captured footage of the men flashing a badge and claiming to be police officers.

According to Nueces County Sheriff J.C. Hooper, they have reason to believe that the men were indeed impostors. He said he is relieved that no one else has reported a similar incident.

The Sheriff's Office continues to reach out to other agencies and even local bounty hunters in hopes of finding the imposters.

"I think the longer this goes on without those individuals being identified, the more likely they aren't, they were not, law enforcement," Hooper said.

According to Hooper, if you ever question an officers' identity, call 911 because they can confirm if the individual is or isn't with a law enforcement agency.
