On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas Coastal Bend affecting 5 of the counties we serve. Our Humanitarian Disaster Program continues to provide long-term assistance for persons impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
For 53 years, we have placed ourselves where the need is the greatest and the resources are the least. We intentionally reach out to the poorest and most vulnerable. We do it by addressing our clients' spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial needs and by promoting family and individual self-sufficiency. We work to reduce and eliminate poverty, support families, and empower communities. We advocate for social changes that will broaden a person's opportunities for growth and independence.
