Post-It notes used to spread positivity at Ray High School

The Post-It notes are much needed in a time where social media is king, test anxiety is flaring and school safety is a constant concern.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — Some students at Ray High School are hoping to make a positive difference on their campus using Post-It notes.

Ray High School students are putting Post-It notes to let their fellow students know they're not alone. The messages themselves are extraordinary, but the execution is quite simple with Post-It notes full of popular memes, jokes, and inspirational quotes.

"It's just something that really makes people happy almost every day," senior Evan Mintz said. "Write sticky notes with kind messages on it like be happy or be yourself. Things of that nature."

The Post-It note idea started in 2015 by the Ray High School student council.

"It was kind of with the intention of having just a way to have a nice positive influence on our campus," Mintz said.

According to students, the Post-It notes are much needed in a time where social media is king, test anxiety is flaring and school safety is a constant concern.

"There are times where it can be competitive, or students are just having a little it of a rough time," Mintz said.

The notes are part of a weekly project that appears to have placed smiles on the faces of both classmates and staff.

"They love it. This is probably one of the big reasons why students come to student council," senior Kelsey Gasiorowski said.

"We will fill this post up all the way and maybe a couple of hundred sticky notes, and it will be gone within a day or two," Mintz said.

When the bell rings at Ray High School, one by one Post-Its are pulled, their messages spread making a difference for those who need it the most.
