Ray Madrigal de Pancho Villa joins 2020 presidential race

Madrigal has run for governor, mayor, and congress.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another candidate has entered next year's presidential race -- this on a bit closer to home for Corpus Christi residents.

On his 77th birthday, Ray Madrigal de Pancho Villa announced his run for presidency. He proposes mandatory military services that will equal four years of college and also proposes Social Security recipients get paid twice a month.

"The reason I'm running is because I'm very concerned about the direction this country is taking," Madrigal said. "Sometimes we don't know from day to day what's going to happen, so I said, 'Well if you are not happy with the direction of the country and who's running it, well it's time for you to get involved.'"

Madrigal has run for governor, mayor, and congress. He is asking for $20 political contributions that he plans to integrate into his campaign slogan: "20 for 20."
