ROBSTOWN, Texas — Educators from the Robstown Independent School District and members of the community had the chance Friday to take part in a golf tournament held by the Education Foundation.

The fundraiser provides resources for teacher grant awards, which help with innovation in teaching and improve the education of the students.

The Education Foundation's mission is to partner with the community and create resources to encourage teachers to continue their education and inspire learning.

"We are always looking for ways to motivate our teachers and grow our teachers as well as how we impact our classrooms," Robstown ISD Superintendent Jose Moreno said. "We have all the community out different business partners. We are so very proud of having many participants out here today."

According to organizers, they hope to host the golf tournament every year.

Around 12-15 teams participated, including 3News First Edition Meteorologist Alan Holt.
