Small businesses who lost everything due to Hurricane Harvey received some financial help Friday thanks to the Coastal Bend United group.

The group presented 78 checks Friday morning to small businesses in Ingleside, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas. They had raised more than $130,000 during an event called Boots, Business, and Barbecue.

"Since the day the hurricane hit we've been out of business. It blew out all my windows, my doors. It looks like the hurricane blew through my office, and we've spent 100-percent of our time rebuilding since then," said Dean Thomas, a small business owner in Aransas Pass.

Coastal Bend United is a coalition of business and economic development organizations committed to the recovery of small businesses in the Coastal Bend.
