U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Falfurrias checkpoint discovered 15 bundles of cocaine hidden in the commode area of a commercial bus during an inspection Thursday, Jan. 25.
The bus had been referred to secondary inspection and when agents saw that some equipment on the bus had been compromised, they discovered the drugs. Passengers were interviewed but nobody admitted ownership.
The drugs had an estimated value of $1.5 million and were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
