CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Del Mar College and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi are celebrating the success of the Viking Islander Program partnership as the first year comes to a close.
The Viking Islander Program is a partnership between both schools that allows students to take classes at both institutions.
Students in the program can get tutoring and advice from both places. The first batch of students who have already gone through the program has said it works.
"It helps to go to both because you can get extra information from good sources from both," student Kathryn Buitron said.
"Since I'm taking classes both here and there, I'm getting more hours," student Ashley Fortoh said.
According to administrators, the partnership helps provide a smooth transition for students who want to finish their education at TAMUCC.
