Texas Adopt-A-Beach brings community together

From Aransas Pass to Baffin Bay, the Coastal Bend was cleaned up on Saturday

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — The Texas Gulf Coast is approximately 367 miles long. On Saturday, volunteers took over 27 different places along the coast for a state-wide clean up.

Adopt A Beach, is an initiative sponsored by the Texas General Land Office. Adopt A Beach started 31 years ago and ever since, the TGLO has seen a great response from Texans.

The program is completely volunteer-based and there are several clean-ups throughout the year.

Along the Coastal Bend, there are 11 sites which volunteers took over to clean-up. Supplies were provided on scene and the event lasted three hours.

While it may be some time before the next clean-up, Adopt A Beach Texas is always accepting donations. You can check out their website here.
