The Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a 23-year old inmate found at the Jim Wells County Jail.

Deputies found Marcus Soza unresponsive in his holding cell late last Thursday. Soza was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The 23-year old was originally arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop and charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance.

Jail officials say Soza was alone in his cell at the time of the incident and was checked on every 35-minutes before hand.
