The 31st Annual La Posada was a success

All of the toys collected will be going to kids in need in the Coastal Bend.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — The annual La Posada finally concluded and organizers said it was another successful year.

Saturday night was the La Posada Illuminated Boat Parade and it was all for the benefit of Toys for Tots.

Organizers said this year they were able to collect 45 bikes and met their goal of 5,000 toys.

Instead of the usual truck they fill, they actually had to get a second truck to collect the toys, they actually had to get a second truck to finish collecting the toys.

"We work so hard and when you see the toys loaded and the marines here and the trucks, it's just wonderful," executive director Fred Elder said. "It makes it worthwhile."

3News was happy to be a part of this annual event, which has been around for over 30 years.
