The investigation began after Aransas Pass police received information about Cantu selling drugs in and around the city. The investigation was assumed by a task force officer assigned to the DEA, and once the information was verified, they obtained a federal search warrant for Cantu's residence.

Inside the home, investigators found two firearms, a large amount of what is suspected to be crystal meth, and marijuana. They also uncovered several pieces of drug paraphernalia and US currency.

Police said a total of two arrests were made during the execution of the warrant, but because the case is under DEA jurisdiction, Aransas Pass police could not share further details.
