ALICE, Texas — A two-year-old  Alice, TX toddler passed away Tuesday afternoon after suffering a bad fall on Friday.

Brinley Kai Barrera's family wasn't ready to speak with 3News but their pastor Grayson Bearden has been by the family's side at the hospital agreed to sit down.

According to Bearden, he got the phone call from the family on Sunday asking for prayers. Barrera's family rushed her to Driscoll Children's hospital but she was unresponsive, her body was moving a little bit, but brain scans revealed they were just involuntary movements.

Bearden only met Barrera once he was by her side at the hospital, but he learned so much from her family.

"She loved life. She loved to laugh. They were showing me videos of her dancing and just enjoying life with her family," Bearden said.

The life for Barrera was taken too soon. Bearden asks for prayers and privacy for Barrera's family.

Starting at 11 a..m. on Saturday, May 18  Journey Church on I-37 and Calicotte will hold a BBQ fundraiser.

All proceeds for the fundraiser will go towards Barerra's funeral.
