Students who may have been considering serving in the U.S. Coast Guard now have an even greater incentive thanks to a new partnership between Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and The U.S. Coast Guard.

A signed memorandum of agreement between the two will provide students with new educational opportunities, including scholarships, loan forgiveness, and new research possibilities.

Alaina Howell, a TAMU-CC student currently in the pre-commissioned initiative is already benefiting from the program,

"Most students think it's too good to be true, like there's a catch, and we tell them all you have to do is go to school and you get paid a salary."

The program is a great new addition for those students seeking an education and future service in The Coast Guard.
