Shelter serving a meal to honor those who have served

Corpus Christi (KIII NEWS) — It's a time to honor those who have helped protect our country.

The Salvation Army partnered with Flint Hills Resources Saturday to provide free lunch to over 200 veterans in the Coastal Bend.

Veterans and their spouses were able toe enjoy a steak lunch and said it was nice being recognized and being able to come together.

"To me, veterans day means a lot to me," U.S. army veteran Louis Harper said. "It's a chance for us to get together and to socialize and for all of the veterans to come together at one time in all different branches."

Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11.
