CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The YWCA is continuing their mission to empower young girls by teaching them they can be strong alone but fearless together.

This week, teens got the chance to learn what it takes to be a future leader in their community during the YWCA Spring Leadership Camp.

On Thursday, guest speakers taught groups all about leadership skills, cultural diversity, and why it's important to work together. Workshops also focused on creating short and long term goals.

"We learned that women can do anything," 10-year-old Isabell Shutt said.  "And if you're part of a community you can do anything in it."

The camp is meant to serve as a Spring Break alternative.
