A motorcyclist was recovering in the hospital Sunday night after he slammed into the back of a Hummer, according to police.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, on SPID near Weber. Police said the driver of a yellow Hummer slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting a couple of dogs that were crossing the busy freeway.
According to police, the motorcyclist was following too close to the Hummer and did not have time to stop. The bike plowed into the back of the Hummer, and the biker was thrown several feet down the highway.
Fortunately, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said he will receive a ticket for failure to control speed.
