Multiple turtle releases along the Coastal Bend

Both the Amos Rehab Keep and Texas Sealife Center released turtles

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On Sunday morning, three turtles who were medically cleared by the Texas Sealife Center and released back into the Gulf of Mexico.

People formed a narrow lane on North Padre Island at mile marker 216 as the turtles were ushered back into the ocean.

A similar event took place around the same time in Port Aransas.

The Amos Rehabilitation Keep released six turtles back into the wild.

The turtles were originally taken into the keep due to infection or fishing line entanglement.

Experts said it's vital that these creatures are released into their natural habitats; this is where they can eat, live and reproduce as they were meant to.
