The planned future of Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital had some local civil rights organizations voicing concerns at a special meeting Monday night at the Oveal Williams Senior Center.
Christus Spohn Health System plans to demolish the Memorial campus and add an outpatient facility on the property. The trauma center would be moved to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline, which would also see improvements.
Christus Spohn had previously organized six community meetings to discuss the project. However, Monday night's meeting was organized by local chapters of the NAACP and LULAC, who have questions and concerns about the $325 million project.
