CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi pet store encouraged people to adopt, not shop, during their event on Saturday.

Whole Pets Market off of Airline Road hosted an adoption event because they said shelters are running out of room.

"We are always in need of as many adopters we can get for our dogs and cats. Here at the facility we are almost always at capacity because we are trying our best to help the community take in on more pets or even stray pets in the area to help find them new homes," Sarah Brown, a shelter team member said.

Several animals that are up for adoption were brought to the market for shoppers to visit and play with.
