The crash happened Saturday afternoon on I-37 near the Mathis exit.

MATHIS, Texas — A mother of four children died after a fatal crash on Saturday afternoon.

According to DPS Troopers only one car was involved in the crash; they discovered a 2004 Ford Expedition had rolled over into a ditch after one of it's tires blew out.

Officials reported the mom, who has been identified as 32-year-old Sonya Estrella Munoz from Corpus Christi, was ejected from the vehicle. They were travelling northbound on I-37 when it happened.

Troopers discovered two of the four children had also been ejected. A one-year-old boy and two other girls who are three and nine years old, were transported to Driscoll Children's Hospital with critical injuries.

The third child in the car, a 16-year-old boy was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi.

Troopers confirmed Munoz was the mother to all four children.

DPS Troopers said they will continue to investigate the crash.
